SEO in Vejle: what it covers and who does what
SEO for businesses in Vejle: the Google profile, the technical side, content and links, agency versus specialist, and how the price is set.
SEO in Vejle is about the same thing as SEO anywhere else, plus one thing: being found when someone nearby searches for what you do. This guide is for businesses in Vejle and the Triangle Region (Trekantsområdet) who want to understand what SEO covers, which parts they can handle themselves, and who does what, before they spend money on it. I am a developer in Vejle and I do the technical side, so that is the part I know best.
What does SEO cover for a local business?#
SEO is three disciplines sold under one name:
Local SEO: your Google Business Profile, and making sure your most important pages mention the service and the town, so Google can see that you do what is being searched for, where it is being searched for.
Technical SEO: whether the pages are fast, whether Google can crawl and index them, and whether the markup describes what is on the page.
Content and links: text that answers what people search for, and mentions from other sites.
Most local businesses need the first two the most, and they are also the cheapest to get in place.
Local SEO: the Google profile and the pages#
If someone searches for "tømrer Vejle" or "fysioterapeut Vejle", the map with businesses in the area often appears before the ordinary results. What decides who appears there is largely the Google Business Profile: that it is created and verified, that the category, address, phone number and opening hours are correct and identical everywhere, and that reviews come in.
You can do that part yourself, and it is the first thing you should do. Then comes the website: every service you want to be found for should have its own page that says what you do and where you do it. A page called "Services" that lists eight things in one list is rarely found for any of them.
Technical SEO: what lies underneath#
The technical side is where good pages become invisible without anyone noticing. The findings that keep coming up on Danish business sites:
Pages excluded from Google by a directive nobody remembered.
Canonical tags pointing somewhere other than the page you want found.
A sitemap missing the pages that actually sell.
A mobile page that takes several seconds to appear because images and scripts are too heavy.
A bot filter at the hosting provider that blocks the AI assistants' crawlers, so ChatGPT and Perplexity cannot read the site.
None of them can be seen from the front page. They show up in Search Console and in the code. If you want a first picture, the free website check shows in half a minute how much there is to gain. I have also written What a technical SEO check actually finds.
SEO agency, SEO expert or SEO specialist in Vejle?#
The words are used interchangeably, but the jobs are different:
An SEO agency typically sells an ongoing programme: keyword research, copy, link building and a monthly report, priced as a subscription.
A technical SEO specialist fixes what lies in the code and the hosting, as a defined job with a start and an end.
The two complement each other. If you already pay an agency for content, the technical side is what gives that content a chance to rank. I do the technical side and local SEO with the Google profile and the most important pages. Content and advertising are done by Adsmark, my partner in Vejle, and if you need both, they can be bought together.
What does SEO in Vejle cost?#
It depends on which of the parts you buy. You can set up the Google profile yourself without paying anything. Technical SEO is a defined job where the price depends on how much needs fixing and which platform the site runs on, so it should be given in writing after the site has been measured. Content and link building are most often sold as a monthly subscription.
One piece of advice whatever the supplier: find out what is measured before and after, and be wary of anyone who promises a specific ranking. Nobody can guarantee that.
Frequently asked questions#
How long does it take before SEO works?
Speed can be measured the same day. Changes in indexing typically take from days to a few weeks for a smaller business site. Rankings move more slowly and depend just as much on competition and content.
Do I need a page for each town?
Only for the towns you genuinely work in and have something specific to say about. Ten near-identical pages where only the town name has been swapped are seen by Google as thin content, and that can drag the whole site down.
Can I do local SEO myself?
Yes, the most important part. Create and fill in the Google Business Profile, ask satisfied customers for a review, and make sure your name, address and phone number are identical on the website, the profile and in directories such as Proff.
What is GEO?
Generative engine optimisation: being mentioned in the answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews. It builds on the same technical foundation as SEO, plus the assistants' crawlers need access, and the site's content has to be readable without JavaScript.
