Privacy. The short version.

micci.dk is a small studio site. The data collected here is limited to what's needed to make the site work and to measure how the site is used.

What I collect#

  • Page views. Path, referrer, browser and OS, device type, and country. The tracker sets no cookies and stores nothing at all on your device, so there is no banner to dismiss. To count unique visitors it uses a hash of your IP address, your browser and this site, salted with a random value that is regenerated every day and then thrown away — which means the same person cannot be followed from one day to the next. Your IP address itself is never stored. It honours your browser's Do-Not-Track setting, and you can opt out entirely by setting ps_as_opt_out to 1 in localStorage.
  • Visits. When you open a page here, I store which pages you view, how long you stay, and where you came from, such as an ad, a search or a link. To see whether you come back, I store two one-way hashes: one of your IP address, and one of the browser and language your browser itself sends with every request. Both are made with a secret key on the server, and the IP address itself is never stored. Nothing is stored on or read from your device. I use it only to see how the site is used and where people drop off, and it is deleted 12 months after your latest visit.
  • Reactions. Anonymous. I keep a one-way hash of your IP address and user-agent, salted with a server-side secret, only to dedupe — so the same emoji from you only counts once. The hash cannot be reversed, and the IP address itself is not stored.
  • Contact submissions. If you write to me via the form or Start a project, I store your message, your IP address and your user-agent so I can filter spam. Submissions are deleted 12 months after the last reply, or sooner on request.
  • The website check and the price calculator. The website check fetches the address you type from my server, and the address is sent to Google PageSpeed Insights, which measures the speed. That is the address of a website, nothing about you. The result is kept for up to an hour, so checking the same site again is quick. The address you check and the result are also stored with your visit. The price calculator works the price out in your browser, and your answers and the price you see are stored with the visit, so I can see where people stop. No name or contact details are attached until you send the form yourself. If you send the form under either of them, it is stored as an enquiry together with the result or your answers, and deleted the same way.
  • Facebook and Instagram forms. If you fill in one of MICCI's ad forms on Facebook or Instagram, I receive what you send: name, email, phone, company and your answers. Meta Platforms Ireland collects them in the form and is responsible for its own part of the processing under Meta's privacy policy. I use them only to answer you, and they are deleted like any other enquiry: 12 months after the last reply, or sooner on request.

What I don't do#

  • No advertising trackers, no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel. Analytics run on HostStack, the same platform that hosts this site, and nothing is passed on to an ad network.
  • No cookies for analytics or anything else on the public site. The only cookie is the admin session, set when I sign in to the site's admin. Two things are kept in your browser so the site works as you expect: your light/dark choice, if you change it (localStorage), and scroll positions for the back button (sessionStorage, cleared when you close the tab).
  • No selling, no sharing with third parties.

Individual analytics events are kept for 35 days. After that only daily totals remain, which cannot be traced back to a visit. My own visit records (see Visits above) are deleted 12 months after your latest visit.

Your rights (GDPR)#

Write to me and I'll delete or export anything tied to you within 30 days. The contact form is the right channel.
