A new website for your business
A site that loads quickly, reads properly on a phone and turns up in Google. I build it in WordPress when you want to keep writing the content yourself, and from scratch when the site has to do something a theme will fight you on.
≈ DKK 12,000–36,000
When this makes sense
- You have no site yet, or one that predates the business you run now
- Yours is slow on mobile and you can see what that costs you
- Nobody left at the company can update the site without help
How it works
- 01
Scope
We agree what the site has to do and how many pages that takes. You get the price and the delivery date before anything gets built.
- 02
Build
Design and build, with the content structure sorted first so the pages have somewhere to live. You see it working in a staging environment along the way.
- 03
Launch
Domain, hosting, certificates, analytics and Search Console. I run the speed numbers before we go live and hand you the login to everything.
What you get
- A handful of pages, designed and built on your own domain and hosting
- Measured on a real phone before it goes live, not after
- Yours to edit, with a walkthrough so you actually can
- Indexing, sitemap and structured data set up from day one
What does a website cost?
A new website for a small business typically costs DKK 12,000–36,000 ex. VAT here. The low end is a handful of pages with your own text and photos, a contact form, enquiry tracking and a site that is fast on a phone from day one. The price rises with the number of pages and languages, with booking or a shop, with connections to systems you already run, and with how much content has to move from an old site.
On top of that come the running costs that quotes often leave out: domain, hosting and any plugin licences, usually a few hundred kroner a month together, and then maintenance. A WordPress site that is never updated becomes a security problem within a year or two. Upkeep typically costs DKK 1,800–4,800 a month, and you can also handle the updates yourself if you prefer.
Compared with a site builder such as Wix or Squarespace, those are cheaper to start with and perfectly fine for a simple site. The difference shows when the site has to be found in Google, be fast on a phone or connect to the rest of the business. Compared with an agency, most quotes for an equivalent site are higher, because there is project management and more people in between.
WordPress or built from scratch
WordPress is the right choice when you want to write and edit the content yourselves, and the site is mostly pages, news and forms. It is widespread, many people can work in it, and you are not tied to me. I build it with a light theme and a few well-chosen plugins, because the extra plugins are what make most WordPress sites slow and vulnerable.
A site built from scratch makes sense when it has to do something specific: calculate a price, show data from your own systems or be part of an application. It is faster and has fewer moving parts, but editing happens in a headless CMS or through me. Which of the two fits is something we work out in the first conversation, and I recommend the cheapest one that does the job.
Common questions
- Do you build in WordPress?
- Yes, and it is the right call more often than people in my line of work like to admit. If you want to write your own pages without ringing a developer, WordPress does that well. I build from scratch when the site needs logic a plugin cannot give it, or when speed matters more than the editing convenience.
- What does a website cost?
- Typically DKK 12,000–36,000. A handful of pages on your own domain lands at the low end. More pages, a shop, a booking flow or an integration with something you already run push the price up, and we agree that before I start rather than after.
- Who writes the text and finds the pictures?
- You know your business better than I do, so the words work best coming from you. I give you a structure to write into and tidy up the result. If you would rather hand it off entirely, I can point you at a copywriter and a photographer worth paying.
- What happens once it is live?
- Nothing you have to buy. You own the domain, the hosting and the site, and you can take it to anyone. If you would rather not think about updates and backups, that is the operations package from DKK 1,800/mo.
