HostStack
The European hosting platform I built because I wanted Render's ease and Hetzner's prices on the same invoice. Git push, deploys without downtime, managed Postgres and Redis, billed in euros.

What it is#
HostStack is a hosting platform for developers who want the ease of Render without American cloud prices. You push to Git and the service is built and deployed with no downtime. Databases run on the same internal network as your service, and custom domains, TLS certificates, logs, metrics and autoscaling are included. Everything runs on Hetzner's servers in the EU, and the invoice comes in euros from a Danish company.
Why it exists#
Before HostStack, my side projects ran on a single Hetzner server that I had looked after for six years. It worked, but every new project meant logging in over SSH, adding another systemd unit, writing a Caddy config by hand and hoping the next deploy wouldn't take down the service next to it.
I tried moving to Render several times, and it always ended the same way. It was easy to use, but the bill was in dollars, the data was in the US, and the privacy policy mentioned the CLOUD Act in the small print.
So I built HostStack: the same Git push workflow, on European servers, with the parts I actually use.
What you get#
Deploys from Git. Push to main and the new version is built and swapped in with no downtime. You can follow the build log live.
Managed Postgres, Redis, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Meilisearch and NATS, set up next to your service in one click. Backups, version upgrades and connection pooling are handled for you.
Domains and TLS. Add a domain, and the certificate, the www redirect and HSTS are set up for you.
An MCP server, so you can deploy, read logs and find faults from Claude Code. Tools like get_deploy_logs, list_env_vars, get_service_metrics and diagnose_deploy can all be called from a chat.
An activity log that shows who changed what and when.
What it doesn't do#
There are no servers outside Europe. If your users are in Singapore, HostStack isn't the right choice yet.
There's no Kubernetes for you to manage. That part is kept out of sight on purpose.
It's a small business. When something breaks, you write to someone who can fix it.
I use it myself#
micci.dk runs on HostStack, and so do Skyskraber, Kuvert and the websites I build for clients. When something annoys me in my own setup, I fix it before anyone else runs into it.

Other projects
Kuvert
Gift cards, punch cards and tickets that Danish businesses sell from their own website. Built and run together with Adsmark.
PostStack
The email API I built after a year of stitching three vendors together. Transactional mail, newsletters and inbound mail in one product, with a TypeScript SDK, a real test mode and hosting in the EU.
Skyskraber
A 2D chat world for Danish-speaking adults, in the tradition of Habbo, Netstationen and 3Dbyen. The rooms are floors in a tower. Built and run by one developer.
